Uh hi I installed this perfectly fine then got to options said error you don’t have permission to access this page?

I got a problem with the vent monitor.

It installed fine, and in the admin settings i filled in my vent info details and it worked.

I then proceeded to appearance and added the widget.

Soon after this, when i went to admin settings to change some of the settings, it then says

“You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

So what is going on here? Before i didn’t get this, but now i do ?

I’m using the latest version of wordpress.

hello,

i have tried this plugin for my site but it does not show up on the main page at all.

Im not sure what im doing wrong as i have followed the directions properly. And it says Status Test Passed!
Program Permissions: 755
Program Location: home/……/wp-vent-spy/includes/ventrilo_status

Is there something i need to edit in the script for this plugin to make it show on the main page ?

I have tired using the default wordpress theme aswell.

I’m getting “No response from server.” message. I have triple checked the info and its all correct. Using godaddy hosting is this the problem?

ok i found out how to fix it on line 58 place a @ and it will ignore the line of code and that removes the error

its ok, i know the guy who is my webhost so i can just ask him to set a different restriction for me

@Nick: Its not your ventrilo server its your webhost. Chmod is the plugin tring to set the server status program to be allowable to be run by you on your host. Its a permissions command. The curl msg is also another security issue. Im sorry man but my plugin is probably not going to work on your host. Some hosts just have some severe paranoia issues. Id recommend a new host. I can set you up a webhost for fairly cheap if you want a month to month setup, how ever i would highly recommend an annual setup on a good host. I recommend HostMonster(www.hostmonster.com). They are affordable, easy to use, have phone in tech support, and best of all, I know for a fact my plugin works flawlessly on their servers. Im sry man i wish i had better advice for a solution. You will probably find that no automated plugin will work on your host. Good Luck.

tired the beta doesnt change the message,
in the settings in wp admin i get
Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in wp-content/plugins/wp-vent-spy/includes/options.php on line 7

Warning: curl_setopt_array() [function.curl-setopt-array]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in wp-content/plugins/wp-vent-spy/includes/cURL.php on line 58

if that helps, ill contact my vent server and ask if he has safemode on

@Nick: use phpinfo(); and look to see if your servers php ini configuration is set to safe mode or your open_basedir is set to something. Thats what the error is telling you. Also I have included a fix in the beta, please reinstall the plugin using the current beta version and report wether or not this fixes your issue. please refer to http://www.webdigity.com/trackback.php?topic=6327
